On Monday, 15 December 2025, Mangu North Constituency hosted a heartwarming Christmas empowerment programme organized by the Plateau State Liaison Officer, Alhaji Sani Golden, to support women across the constituency. Held in the spirit of the season, the programme reached over 500 women, each of whom received a wrapper and a cash gift of ₦5,000. Sowore arrested in court

 Human rights activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore was apprehended on Thursday inside the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja by armed policemen. Sowore had reportedly attended court for proceedings when officers moved in and took him into custody.  A close associate revealed that the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory had previously issued an invitation to Sowore, although the arrest happened suddenly and without an explicit prior warning.
