PRIVATE HUMANITARIAN AND POVERTY REDUCTION GROUP SET TO IMPACT ANGWAN RUKUBA WIDOWS TODAY
In a remarkable show of compassion and community service, the Private Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction Group is set to extend its outreach to widows in Angwan Rukuba today, 26th Oct. 2026. The initiative aims to bring relief, empowerment, and hope to widows who have been struggling with economic hardship and social neglect. This visit is part of the group’s broader mission to alleviate poverty and restore dignity to vulnerable individuals and families across communities.
The outreach program will feature the distribution of essential food items, household supplies, and financial support, alongside motivational talks and counseling sessions. According to the organizers, the goal is not only to meet immediate needs but also to create pathways for long-term self-reliance through skill acquisition and microenterprise support.
This effort, according to the group, is part of their modest contribution to augment the strides of notable figures such as Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, whose groundbreaking health intervention programs, women empowerment initiatives, and ongoing youth development efforts are highly commendable. The youth leader of Nabwor-Gwonh community, Fredrick Tombra, is a direct beneficiary of Dr. Nentawe’s impactful health intervention. The group also recognized the humanitarian efforts of Dr. Yusuf Gagdi, Hon. JK Chris—Chairman of Jos North, who recently procured transformers to improve electricity supply in his constituency—Hon. Babs, and Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, the Governor of Plateau State, whose visible developmental strides continue to inspire hope across the state.
According to the group, their outreach is also an expression of readiness to partner with these great forces and other well-meaning individuals and organizations to expand the reach of humanitarian aid. They emphasized the urgent need to support destitute widows and vulnerable families who have been trapped in cycles of poverty, leaving their children exposed to drugs, crime, and other social vices.
They further appealed to individuals, corporate bodies, and government agencies to join hands in sustaining and scaling up such interventions, not only in Angwan Rukuba but across communities in Plateau State and beyond. The group reaffirmed its commitment to serving humanity, building resilience, and ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against poverty and hardship.
